Edwards Electrical upgrades consumer units and fuse boards across South Wales from £699 to £899 supplied and fitted. A typical upgrade takes around three to four hours including testing, and brings your board up to the latest safety standards with RCD protection on every circuit. The work is fully tested and certified by a qualified electrician.
Your consumer unit, or fuse board, is the heart of your home's electrical system. An older board may not offer the protection modern wiring regulations expect, and upgrading it is one of the most worthwhile safety improvements you can make. We fit new consumer units across Pontypool, Newport, Cardiff and throughout South Wales.
A new board gives every circuit its own protection, so a fault in one part of the house no longer takes out everything else, and it adds the RCD protection that guards against electric shock. We talk you through what your existing board is missing and what the upgrade will give you before any work begins.
Most upgrades take around three to four hours including testing, and cost between £699 and £899 supplied and fitted. The power is off for part of that time, so we plan the work with you and keep the disruption to a minimum. We always test the existing installation first so there are no surprises once the new board is live.
When the board is in, we carry out full testing on every circuit, label everything clearly, and issue your certificate. You are left with a safer, more reliable installation and a clear record of the work we have done.

EEC came to rescue and performed factory reset and reconnected zappi to network. As they were busy it took a few days to get here so I had to conserve charge in car for a few days. Called for help with my hot water Friday teatime, I found Edwards Electrical, gave them a call no answer, I was just going to try someone else and Dan called me back from EE. I expect pained what the problem was and he said he could come the next morning which was a Saturday at 8 and have a look at it. When Dan arrived he had a look at the water tank and the solar panel box, he worked out what was wrong and 45mins later all done and I now have hot water again, Dan was very polite and professional and I will be recommending him to all that want electrical and plumbing work done.

Do I need a full rewire or a partial one?

Will a rewire make a lot of mess?

Do you replace the consumer unit during a rewire?
Where needed, yes. A rewire is the ideal time to fit a new consumer unit, and we include it as part of the work when the existing board is not up to standard. Everything is tested and certified once the rewire is complete.
